Bar Review: Viva Arriba

Bar Review: Viva Arriba
A taste of Spain in Bangalore

If Spain has you thinking of the mouth-watering flavours of paella and chorizo; the heady highs of tequila and sangrias; the sensuous excitement of the salsa and the flamenco, and the relaxed languor of the siesta, then it is time you said hola to Viva Arriba, the newest tapas bar in town.

Cosy and cheerful, Viva Arriba's rustic and relaxed Spain-inspired ambience is guaranteed to have you coming back for more, as it's a great destination for good food, good music and excellent conversation in the company of friends and family.

The traditional Spanish inspired tapas menu includes delicacies such as Gambas Al Ajilo (prawns sauteed in chilli garlic oil), Gambas Con Gabardina (cheese stuffed crumb fried prawns), Pizza Espanol, a reflection of the colours of the Spanish flag (with chorizo, manchego cheese, toffee onion and yellow peppers), chorizo with bacon and roast garlic potato, and the exotic and unusual, 'Pigs On A Date' (bacon wrapped date with green apple) and coffee and spice lamb kebabs.

The highlight of the main course is the various versions of the most well known Spanish dish — the paella. Viva Arriba prides itself on the quality and authenticity of every paella served, as all core ingredients are sourced directly from Spain. Also try the in-house speciality, the Paella Viva Arriba which combines chicken with the more traditional assortment of seafood. For the discerning palate, the Paella Mariscos is an absolute must.

In honour of this year's Fiesta Nacional — the anniversary of Columbus' arrival, Viva Arriba brings to you the food of Spain right on 12th Main, Indiranagar — with a sampler combo offer of Paella, Sangria and Churros with chocolate dip at just Rs 500/- for a limited time only.

Viva Arriba also offers a wide variety of salads, hand-crafted burgers, a huge variety of pizzas and tex-mex specialities. Vegetarians need not despair as Viva Arriba has a wide array of vegetarian delicacies on offer as well. Viva Arriba also boasts a well-stocked bar and extensive wine list. Signature cocktails are guaranteed to get you in the fiesta spirit!

Ladies could make the most of Chica Nights every Friday and enjoy three free cocktails and the pulsating music by the in-house DJ. Do the samba and the rumba every Saturday night at the Latin Beats Nights. Wind up the weekend with a relaxed laid back brunch at the Siesta Sunday Brunch with salads, tapas, grill, desserts as well as unlimited beverages. Viva Arriba's weekday speciality is the power lunch, on from Monday to Friday between 12 and 4 pm. The weekday treat is priced at `350, and is a must do for busy Bangaloreans.
