So you are going on that long awaited trip all by yourself. The first concern, of course, would be what to pack.

Your instinct would be to take just everything, what if you feel like wearing your jogging shoes one of those days, or your new boots? Well, the answer is, don't pack any of them. The only rule to be followed when on an economy trip is, pack only what you just can't do without - like one pair of jeans and as many number of tops as the days you travel. T-shirts are the best bet when travelling, they take very little space and are light as well.

You might be tempted to take along with you your entire cosmetics collection, but stop yourself. All you will need is a moisturiser, lip balm, and a deodorant. Make sure you carry sunscreen, however, depending on the climate of the place you are going. The other must haves include mosquito repellant, a pair of sunglasses, and comfortable hair accessories.

Carry tissues instead of towels to save space. It is ideal if you can do with just one pair of slippers or shoes, which are sturdy, comfortable, and good for all weathers. Basic medicines are a must, of course, besides a hard copy of essential phone numbers, in case you lose your mobile phone. Unless you are an ardent photography enthusiast, it is best to leave the DSLR at home, it's best to do away with a camera altogether if your phone has a reasonably good one. With luck, you can fit all of this into a medium sized rucksack, even if you are travelling for a week. Remember that your priority is to feel comfortable while travelling, than be impeccably dressed.
