Olive oil, raw sugar excellent lip scrub

Olive oil, raw sugar excellent lip scrub
Actress Kirti Kulhari shares with us her beauty mantra

Skin-tillating!
I cleanse and wash my face thoroughly and apply ice before I start applying my makeup. I start make up with a MAC Primer. It's followed by base, then the concealer and settled with powder. Then I contour my cheek bones, nose and face in general. I remove my makeup with MAC oil. All the products that I use are water based as I have oily skin.

Mane point
I love pairing evening gowns with hair tied up like a boho updo or a curly chignon. And I avoid a hair wash so that the updo can be easily made. I keep my scalp clean and make sure the ends are well conditioned as the weather makes it really dry and frizzy. I am also quite generous with hair serum, as I like to protect my hair from any chemicals, the rain water and pollution. I also apply a mixture of egg, curd and lemon to my hair. It adds a marvellous shine. I apply these absolutely natural, herbal treatments to my hair twice a month.

Any special care you indulge in before a big evening out?
Try and catch some sleep. It's the best thing for the skin. Then use some herbal face packs. It brings a glow and exfoliates my skin. Also, while bathing, I use besan and turmeric paste along with a scrub for the whole body. It brightens and exfoliates the skin.

A make up, skin or hair trick you've learnt from someone or an expert
Tie your hair into small plaits after washing it and leave it for a couple of hours or overnight. It will give you the natural wavy look. No heat, no products! For your blush to stay on longer, apply mousse blush first and then powder blush on it. Your blush won't budge. Olive oil mixed with raw sugar makes for an excellent lip scrub.

Make up mantra for the day and the night
For the day — keep it simple, basic, minimalistic, natural. Stick to peaches and pinks. For night — you can add colour to your eyes, make them smoky and also use shimmer and bronzer. Night make up also calls for louder lip colours.
