Allergic reactions occur when your immune system overreacts to normally harmless substances, such as dust mites, pollen from flowers, pet dander, etc.

- Dust and dust mites thrive in your heating system. Professional cleaners can give your ducts a clean bill of health. Change the heating system filters at least once a month.

- Keep the house as dust-free as possible. Vacuum the carpet once or twice a week. The curtains and shades must be free of dust.

- Wear a protection while cleaning the house. Most of the house allergens are inhaled during the process of house cleaning. Just wear a mask and gloves when dusting around the house.

- Wash yourself before going to bed. Try to take a shower every night before going to sleep.

- Your hair should also be washed too as pollen can accumulate in its tangles.

- Keep animals outdoor if possible and wash them once a week.
