Honda India to assemble new CR-V SUV in India
Jan 18, 2013
Honda Cars India, the wholly owned subsidiary
of the Japanese car major Honda has decided to assemble the sports
utility vehicle CR-V in India with the aim of availing tax benefits and
indulging in competitive pricing. The new revamped fourth generation SUV
will hit the Indian car market by February 2013.
The new version of the SUV will be equipped optionally with a 2.0 liter or a 2.4 liter petrol engine as the earlier car model. However, the new version will be available at a price lower than that of the earlier car. The assembly of the car will be implemented at the Greater Noida facility of the carmaker.
While the earlier car model has already been discontinued by the carmaker, the new car model will be launched in India in the month of February 2013.
Amid speculations about diesel price deregulation, the surge in diesel car sales may down and the car buyers may return to buying petrol cars and enable a fairer chance to the new SUV.
