Modern TV chefs too rude, says Madhur Jaffrey
Cookery legend Madhur Jaffrey has blasted the new generation of "rude" television chefs.
The 79-year-old Delhi born actor, who has written more than 30 cookbooks, is back with a new TV series, Madhur Jaffrey's Curry Nation, on the Good Food Channel.
"I couldn't be that rude to people, if only because I wouldn't like it done to me. That said, I do swear from time to time. But only in a very quiet voice," she told the Radio Times.
The world of TV cuisine has changed in the 17 years since Jaffrey presented her last BBC cookery show, The Flavours of India. Since those days, hot-tempered chefs such as Gordon Ramsay and Marco Pierre White have enjoyed success on the small screen.
